Arne Slot conceded that it was expected for concerns to be asked about his future after another heavy loss against the Dutch champions.
The Reds endured their ninth loss in 12 games, representing the club's poorest streak since being demoted in 1953-54.
They were taken apart by the Dutch league champions on a difficult night at Anfield.
“I feel secure, I am OK, I have got significant backing from management,” the coach stated.
“It would be nice to change things and secure a win naturally but when you're working as a coach and not doing well then it is normal that doubts arise.”
He continued, “I am OK with my role. This isn't the initial instance I've found myself in a challenging situation but it's necessary that we turned it around.”
Upon being questioned to provide details on his dialogues with the club's leadership, the head coach revealed:
“We talk a lot. They are helpful for the squad and to me and those talks happen but they aren't calling me all the time of the day to say they back me.”
He added, “During our regular conversations we have I feel the trust. But I've not talked to them since this game yet so we'll see.”
Slot highlighted familiar failings from his squad in their European defeat, namely poor finishing and conceding too easily.
Meanwhile, midfielder Curtis Jones was more forthright in his evaluation of the current crisis.
“I don’t have the answers. Truthfully, I don’t. I’m saying that to everybody,” the midfielder remarked.
“It is not good enough. I don't have to wait to think about it. I’m past feeling anger inside. I've reached the stage currently where I simply lack the vocabulary.”
He went on, “It’s hard because I’m playing for the club I love. I support them, and I've watched this club since I was young.”
“In recent memory, I've not seen a Reds side going through a spell such as this with results so bad.”
Jones concluded, “However we continue to wear the emblem on our shirts. And as long as it is taken away, we will always battle.”
“We’re going to try to get this team return to the top, show everyone again what this club is about and why people call it the top club in the planet.”
“At this moment, we're in trouble and it needs to change.”
