The Lionesses take on the Chinese team – Women's Friendly International

Preamble

Welcome everyone to the exhibition fixture between England and China at Wembley Stadium. This promises to be an exciting contest with the current Euro titleholders facing the current Asian Cup champions.

The home of English football is packed for the match, which will see the celebrated Fran Kirby celebrated pre-match after her departure from the England squad before the Euro tournament this past summer.

Squad announcements will be revealed soon, but there was a recent squad update for England. On Friday, Khiara Keating withdrew from the squad with a small issue, and so ex-first choice Ellie Roebuck has been summoned.

With Hannah Hampton unavailable, it will be interesting to see who England manager Sarina Wiegman selects in goal. That news and all the other updates are coming up before the opening whistle at 17:30 GMT.

The lineups have been announced. Anna Moorhouse is the starting keeper for England in the unavailability of Hannah Hampton and Khiara Keating.

The Lionesses: Moorhouse, Bronze, Charles, Walsh, Le Tissier, Morgan, Mead, Stanway, Russo, Toone, Hemp.

Bench: Hings, Baggaley, Kendall, Wubben-Moy, Beever-Jones, Kelly, Kearns, Park, Blindkilde Brown, Roebuck, Clinton, Denton, Fisk, Godfrey.

Debut Alert

Tonight’s game will be Anna Moorhouse’s maiden cap for England. She featured in the Euros team who claimed victory this past summer, but she did not feature with Hannah Hampton in the number one shirt.
