The US supreme court has refused an legal challenge from the Infowars host and left in place his $1.4 billion libel judgment that was given to the victims' relatives from the 2012 Sandy Hook elementary school shooting.
The conspiracy theorist had sought to overturn the court decision, which he was directed to settle after he made false claims about the school shooting.
Jones had repeatedly stated the Connecticut incident where 26 individuals were killed was a staged event performed by actors to advocate for gun regulations.
The grieving relatives testified that Jones's lies led to intimidation from his supporters, making it challenging for them to recover from the tragedy.
The supreme court did not provide a reason for its ruling, according to its official document issued on this week.
As part of his legal petition lodged in the fall, Jones claimed that a court official was wrong to hold him responsible for defamation and infliction of emotional distress without holding a trial.
Jones asserted that the $1.4bn judgment "cannot possibly be settled", adding that "the outcome is a economic ruin by fiat levied against a content creator whose broadcast reaches millions".
Jones and Infowars' parent company, his company, filed for protection in recently after the huge judgment following legal actions filed in different jurisdictions.
A financial review into Jones's financial and legal documents found that he had shifted wealth worth millions of dollars outside the reach of creditors as lawsuits from the grieving relatives along with judicial fines mounted against him over the recent period.
Meanwhile, in June, the court-appointed official managing Jones's financial proceedings accused him of trying to hide over five million dollars from claimants.
In a comment on the legal outcome, legal representative, an attorney representing the victims' families, said: "The highest court properly rejected Jones's latest desperate attempt to evade consequences for the harm he has inflicted. We look forward to enforcing the significant ruling and ensuring compensation for what they have committed."
