NFL 2025 season: Week six
Live coverage features text commentary of the weekend matchups via multiple platforms, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (from 14:00 BST). Also, radio commentary is available on designated networks covering another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).
We're in the sixth week of the NFL season , following recent talk regarding two top teams as possible championship contenders, each lost their perfect starts.
Notable during those contests was the number of penalties both conceded. The Eagles committed them at crucial times so they kind of defeated themselves after leading by two touchdowns entering the fourth period versus Denver, who play in London this weekend.
But it proved positive to see that Denver's QB the rookie was able to have that deficit before lead three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, securing the game by four points.
The Broncos boast the defensive player of the year with cornerback their star corner. They rank first in red zone defence, while Philadelphia lead the league in red zone offence, and the Broncos prevailed in that contest.
They executed effective strategies regarding simulated pressure. They did not always rushing more than four defenders but they could position two linebackers in the 'A' gap then drop them out and send a slot defender from the outside.
At the start of the season, it was noted during a show that Denver could be the current year's dark horses. They finished the previous year strongly then did a good job in continuing that momentum.
Could Denver be this season's dark horses?
Recently acquired tight end their tight end has excelled big while recent RB their rusher is a player the team trusts. He now ranks 5th league-wide for rushing yards (402) as well as tied for fourth in rushing scores (4).
It's impressive that head coach the Broncos' leader has "RUN IT!" at the top of his playcall sheet.
This demonstrates that Denver are a team that wants to prioritize the run, because you can do a lot based on that approach. It reduces opposing rushes while maintains in positive down and distances.
It's also benefited quarterback the young passer, who entered the NFL as a first-round selection in the prior draft, throwing 29 TDs – just behind Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 in 2020).
Other elite QBs possess the arm strength to pass all over, but they don't move the mobility that Nix has. He has exceptional arm talent, which is different, plus he is highly agile.
His strengths are his movement, being able to pass while moving, and finding different arm angles to deliver the pass when he rolls out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He is able to throw precision throws across the middle and past defenders.
For a young quarterback, aged 25, he's got great poise under pressure and is not really fazed by extra rushers. He aims to avoid a sack as much as possible and is able pass in tight spots. He has a high football IQ and is quick to decide.
When you constantly run the ball it eats up time and forces the opponent to stay in play extended periods, and if you've got a mobile QB the defense must cover the area vertically side to side. It can be exhausting.
Nix has pushed back with the coach during games at times and I think the coach likes that attitude, that he's a fierce rival. In my view it's exciting for him to have a young quarterback that is kind of like moldable clay. The coach can truly develop him the way he desires to build it. I think it's a special experience for the coach.
Payton has won a Super Bowl and now surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed it all. In my opinion the success Denver are experiencing offensively is mostly due to his guidance, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the combination with the QB aids make him into who he is.
You wouldn't want a more qualified person in your ear, to assist you during difficult moments and build confidence.
I believe in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. But is the team strong enough to face an elite team at its best? Since that wasn't championship-level play by the Eagles in their last game.
Currently, I don't think Denver are incredible. They're performing better than most, which is a good place to hold the AFC West. All they need to do to continue this trajectory.
They're really good at leaning into their strength, which is the ground game, and this is exactly what they must do against the Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.
New York have allowed 140 rushing yards per game (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (10th worst), and they're the only team without a win any game.
Since the league began tracking takeaways in 1933, the Jets are the inaugural squad to go without a single takeaway through five games, this is surprising when you think that the head coach was previously a defensive coach with another team.
Patrick Mahomes says the Chiefs are off to a poor start after a recent loss by the Jaguars.
Following the upcoming matchup, the Broncos face a smooth-ish schedule up to their break (in week 12) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Looking at their division, Kansas City hold a losing record and the Broncos are even with the Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could make a run for the top of the division.
It depends on what version Kansas City shows up they meet since the Broncos {beat|def
